The $1,000 Mint Julep Cup Experience — Derby weekend with Woodford Reserve

It’s the Kentucky Derby. A time-honored tradition and big event! The Queen of England has attended, so you know it’s cool. Our latest work with Woodford Reserve, the official bourbon of the Derby, presented the challenge of celebrating the history of the sport while making sure it was relevant for today’s guests. Well, you can’t go wrong with a Mint Julep, so let’s start there.

Our team designed the limited edition $1,000 Mint Julep Cups that pay tribute to the British origins of the Kentucky Derby (Noble Cups, made of pewter and featuring 18 karat gold details are $1,000; Royal Cups, made of gold-plated sterling silver with sterling silver details are $2,500.) Each cup is adorned with features that celebrate everything from the famous “Run for the Roses” to a royal crown.

During Derby Day, May 6, we will be at the Periscope designed $1,000 Mint Julep Cup tent as part of the start to finish experience you can only get at Churchill Downs. All proceeds from the event benefit the Kentucky Derby Museum.

To build excitement leading up to the event, we also created promotional materials for stores and bars alike to share, celebrating the Sport of Kings … and Queens!
